Have you been trying to find a easy camp recipe, that you can put together in one pot?
If your like me, sometimes you don’t want to fuss too much when camping,hunting, or chasing ghosts in an old mining town.
After being out all day in the cold, the LAST thing you want is to spend a lot of time putting together something to eat.
This easy camp recipe can be made up in one pot, (helps cut down on dirty dishes)!!!!
This one pot camp meal is quick and easy to fix.
* 1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
* 1/2 lb. lean hamburger
* 1 small onion, chopped
* baby portabella mushrooms, sliced
* 3 tablespoons olive oil
* 8 ounce can tomato sauce (or pasta sauce)
* 3/4 cup water
* salt and pepper, to taste
* 1/4 cup grated cheese, optional
Heat the olive oil in large dutch oven until hot. Add chopped onions, sliced mushrooms, and hamburger.Cook until hamburger is slightly browned,than add uncooked macaroni. Continue cooking until hamburger is cooked thru. Add the tomato sauce, water, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer 15 minutes stirring frequently. Sprinkle with cheese (optional).
This easy camp recipe can be changed to suit your needs.
You can change the meats around, chicken, beef, sausage, game meat.
You can add different spices or seasonings. Add some taco seasoning, sliced olives and serve with corn chips.
I’ve thought about(haven’t tried yet)using chicken, and than adding an Alfredo sauce instead of a tomato sauce. Some smokey mozzarella cheese and a little grated Parmesan………YUM!!!!
You can throw some greens together for a nice little salad, add some sourdough bread and dinner is ready!!!!
